Mudra's ‘cosmic endless knot’ logo is more than an expression of our company’s brand. It embodies an ancient promise to honour the people we serve, starting with the customers we love, the suppliers we choose and the communities we support. We look for projects and partners who share our core values and are committed to helping our communities onto a sustainable path to a better life, a life where our farmers in Nepal can grow their flocks, feed their families and continue to practice their ancient traditions of working with the land.

We believe that integrity in every weave of our business should mean more than offering donations. We pay fair wages and work long term with our families in Nepal and Bali ensuring pre- payment and payment on delivery. We also insist that no child has to labour in any of our production processes and regularly check-in with our communities.

Each month, we donate a percentage of our company profits to the Siddhartha Foundation in Nepal. This small charity works to feed, clothe and educate the young, mostly orphan monks and nuns. We are doing all we can to preserve the ageless wisdom and spiritual traditions of our ancient cultures, but we can’t do it alone. Mudra also donates regularly to the Shambhalla Dakini Monastry who keep Tibetan monasteries alive in the restoration and up keep of several monastries and the sponsorship of the Tulku’s.

“We also give to Action Aid and charities which share our values” says Rita, “because when we open to begin to master the art of giving, we can actually open ourselves to be in deep union the kind that transcends duality,” and to feel in union with Life is to live as a soulful conscious woman.

Indigenous Artisan Communities

We are really inspired by the skilful craftsmanship, the outstanding beauty and skill of these handmade pieces of Jewellery - or should we say - sacred adornments that are made by speciifc medicine communities in Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador. These are age old skills and inspired by the visions of sacred Plant teachers such as Peyote know to open the heart and blow the mind.

We ask the communities to make each piece and imbue it with their prayers for this often out of balance western world to build a bridge with them, to honour their reverence of our Sacred Earth - Pachamama. Each piece takes up to 3 - 4 days to make by people that offer there lives in service.

MUDRA make very little profit on each piece so that we can pay as much as possible to keep this level of exquisite and valuable craftsmanship alive.

“We also give to Action Aid and charities which share our values” says Rita, “because when we open to begin to master the art of giving, we can actually open ourselves to be in deep union the kind that transcends duality,” and to feel in union with Life is to live as a soulful conscious woman.

Charitable Donations

Mudra donates to Water-Aid because we strongly care about having clean accessible water everywhere. We fully support Water-Aid’s three principles of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for all beings on this earth. Water is life – and yet we continue to poison our global wells, feed toxic water to our children and dam our sacred rivers in the name of industrial and consumer demands– so it is our commitment to do all that we can to protect our rivers by insisting that all the water for dyeing our clothes is properly filtered and recycled.

Our suppliers ensure the unfiltered water doesn’t run into the sacred rivers or pollute the grasslands where our cashmere goats graze freely and our families grow food. When it comes to life-giving water, we are a truly Global Village and as Mudra continues to grow we hope to play our part in raising awareness and restoring the sanctity of our sacred waters.
